Solutions 71 is seeking a Cloud Solution Architect (CSA) to support a Department of Defense customer. The CSA will assist the embedded NIWC Pacific USSTRATCOM Engineering Team in the design of innovative and cost-effective mission-relevant solutions including systems engineering, applications, cyber security, cloud, infrastructure, life cycle cost estimates, and operational solutions that address USSTRATCOM’s IT Enterprise and NEC operational and technology needs.
Specific Duties / Tasks (include, but not limited to):
- Supports the NIWC Pacific Chief Engineer in the development of integrated, cost-effective cloud solutions that meet USSTRATCOM requirements.
- Supports the creation and the documentation of technical solutions, plus the development of the costing of each for implementation, operations, and sustainment.
- Merges industry point of view with broad technical knowledge and mission understanding to generate value propositions and approaches to solve the Governments cloud architecture and implementation challenges.
- Identifies and evaluates solution risks and creates strategies and plans to mitigate those
Requirements:
- Total years of related experience: Bachelor’s Degree and 16+ years, or master’s degree and 14+ years, or PhD and 10+ years
- 5+ years of experience in developing successful large, complex technical solutions for Government and/or commercial customers with at least 3 years of demonstrated experience providing solution engineering of cloud capabilities and solutions in AWS, Azure or other mainstream CSP including compute, storage, networking, security, server-less and containers resulting in elastic, resilient and self-healing Cloud native applications and workflows
- Experience with On-Prem to Cloud Migrations with understanding of common technical pitfalls
- Knowledge of current Cloud technologies, architectures, best practices, cloud native tools, emerging technologies, and trends
- AWS or MS certification (Solution Architect Associate or Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional, Security Specialty, Microsoft Azure Architect Technologies, Microsoft Azure Architect Design or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert)
- IAW DoD 8570.01-M, must meet IAT II minimum qualifications
- Must possess an Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility
